Which isn't a good thing when you live 35 minutes from the closest store that sells donuts.
But I was in luck, as albertsons had a 10 for 10$ sale on pillsbury canned biscuits the other day, and I had 1 can left over.
I've made these one time before and if i remember correctly, Matt loved them... So it was worth a second go at them.
The ingredients are super easy, and things you might already have them at home like I did!
- 1 can pillsbury biscuits
- maple syrup
- powdered sugar
- butter
- frying oil
Then use a small biscuit cutter or something else you might have on hand (I used the funnel from my breast pump...) to cut out holes in the center of the biscuits.
Now you have donuts and donut holes!
It took my donuts about 1 min or so to brown on each side.
By the way, this is so quick and easy you can do it while holding a baby on your hip...
If you don't have a baby, it makes it even quicker as you can use two hands!
Melt two tablespoons butter. (Or vegan butter in my case.... Bleh)
Then mix in about 1 cup powered sugar.
Then pour in about 3 tablespoons of maple syrup.
Mix all together till smooth.
Add more syrup or sugar depending on your desired consistency.
Or double... Or triple dip... No one is watching....
I used some good ol Hershey's syrup...
Now, Enjoy!
Because if you cant tell... There are 2 donuts missing here... And I know Bridger didn't eat them.
And I may or may not be responsible for the missing donut holes...
Looks like I gotta run a bit further today!
This guy even gives them a standing ovation, he loved the maple glaze :).
I swear we're destined to be friends! Lol. These look amazing. I think the only thing better than having them in my own kitchen would be to crumble bacon on top of the maple glaze. Oh my word...
